JOb Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible to screen and provide counseling services to clients in existing TB Programs/Clinics in both public and private provider settings and help them in understanding how it is beneficial for them to be a part of the survey. Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve the awareness of TB.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide counseling and support to patients diagnosed with TB
    Provide counseling and support to TB patients diagnosed with Diabetes and/or Depression/Anxiety
    Provide counseling to people regarding TB and inform them about the benefits of getting themselves screened for TB
    Encourage participants to discuss their emotions and experiences and provide them with a safe environment to do so
    Provide a safe environment for people to discuss issues
    Provide counseling to patients for their mental health issues
    Provide counseling to the support system of the patient (if needed)
    Maintaining record of the patients seen at the public/private care setting(s)
    Reporting to designated supervisor on a daily basis
    Carry out research activities as required by the program
    Assisting in data entry
    Supporting other staff members of the team when required
    Perform other related duties as required
    Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines regarding all clients, conversations and referrals
    Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
    Attend regular staff meetings and in-services
    Calling up the patients for Follow-up
    Perform other related duties as required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

    Intermediate (preferably Psychology degree or diploma)

Required Experience

    Experience in providing counseling services, or hospital experience is preferred
    Experience in working for programs engaged in one on one direct contact with people

Required Skills

    Effective communication skills
    Fluency in regional language
    Basic computer skills
    Experience of field work
