Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that local entity in multiple geography is compliant with local direct, indirect and personnel tax laws.
- Maintain a statutory tax compliance calendar for each location to ensure strict compliance.
- Prepare and review all corporate tax returns - provisional / final (monthly/quarterly/annual) and ensure timely filing to the respective tax authorities.
- Prepare and review all indirect tax returns (VAT, Payee tax etc) and ensure timely filing to the respective tax authorities.
- Manage and facilitate tax audits/assessments including preparing responses and action plans.
- Review local transfer pricing laws & regulations and conduct in-depth analysis on transfer pricing procedures, business processes and intercompany transactions and suggest actions as necessary.
- Ensure local entity is compliant with all local transfer pricing laws & regulations by timely filing of all transfer pricing returns including TP master files, TP local files, intercompany transaction reporting etc.
- Review financial statements in line with local tax laws to arrive at proper tax liabilities and ensure accurate tax reporting including deferred taxes in the financial statements.
- Reconciliation of input and output taxes as per local tax laws.
- Ensuring compliances with Stamp Duty and Professional Tax laws as applicable.
- Monitor local tax law changes & developments, communicate the effects of these changes & developments on business and create appropriate action plan.
- Collaborate with the local teams to ensure proper review, training, monitoring, and controls in place with remedial action plan wherever necessary.
- Provide adhoc tax advice to head office as well as the businesses on local and international transactions.
- Post-graduate degree with specialization in Finance / International Tax (CA/ACCA/CPA).
- Good inter-personal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent reading, writing and interpretation skills with an attention to detail.
- - years of relevant experience in managing taxation matters for a Group operating in multiple geography.
- Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns.
- Should be able to deal with regulators, auditors, tax consultants in various jurisdictions.
